YMCA Online Body Fat Calculator
This calculator uses the formula developed by the YMCA to estimate your body fat percentage without callipers. Use a tape measure and enter your waist measurement. Combine the waist measurement with your gender and weight and this calculator will estimate your % of body fat, how much of your weight is lean mass and how much is fat mass, and your general fitness category. The water displacement test is the most accurate way to determine body fat %, but the Navy Body Fat test or YMCA formula is accurate within 1-3% for most people.
For people aged 20 to 39, women should aim for 21% to 32% of body fat. Men should have 8% to 19%. For people 40 to 59, women should fall between 23% to 33% and men should fall around 11% to 21%. If you're aged 60 to 79, women should have 24% to 35% body fat and men should have 13% to 24%.
