The Worlds Best Exercise

In todays day and age gyms are a very daunting place with all of the machines, gadgets and gizmos, but what if I told you that the worlds best exercise lies within you, yes that is right you already own the worlds best exercise, and that exercise is work ethic (your mind).

Every year a new fitness fad comes around, we've all seen them on the television trying to sell you DVDS and equipment, all of this isn't needed to lead a fit and healthy life, they are all in place just to fill someones pocket with your hard earned money.

Eugen Sandow, the pioneer of health and fitness stated that there a a few key fundamental exercises 'do them well and do them often'. You don't need 10+ different movements/machines to work one muscle group.

Dorian Yates said in a recent LONDON REAL interview that the key to his success was his work ethic, he would push his body to the limit. He knew that it didn't matter what the other personal was doing he was doing more, working harder.

With all of the above, here are our take home points:

. Keep your workouts simple, you don't need bands, wobble boards, gadgets and gizmos, keep it simple, work the fundamental exercises and perform them well.

. Push yourself, make sure that with every workout you work hard, don't just go through the motions. Work hard and the results will show.

. Enjoy the process, find a form of fitness you enjoy, be it weights training, running or yoga, if you don't enjoy it you won't stick with it.

***. Bonus Point ***

Our ethos at Apex Athletic is to work each client holistically, this is achieved through variety and functional movement exercise. Every sessions is based on the GPP (General Physical Preparedness) protocol, making sure that you are as well rounded as possible, aiding in the prevention of injury and ill health.

" What right have you moving external objects, if you cannot move your own bodyweight correctly"

Start with HIIT bodyweight training, squats, press-ups and pull ups, do these well, build a solid foundation and then move to the weights.
