Festive Fit: A Merry Christmas Home Bodyweight Workout

The holiday season is upon us, and while the festive cheer fills the air, it's essential to keep our fitness goals in mind. Don't worry, you don't need a gym or fancy equipment to stay active this Christmas! Here's a jolly home workout that will have you breaking a sweat while enjoying the holiday spirit – all without leaving the comfort of your living room.

1. Santa's Squats

Stand with feet shoulder-width apart.

Imagine you're sitting back into Santa's sleigh, lowering your hips down into a squat.

Keep your chest up, and extend your arms forward.

Complete 3 sets of 15 squats.

2. Reindeer Run in Place

Lift your knees high and jog in place.

Swing your arms as you go.

Add a little hop for an extra challenge.

Perform for 3 minutes – it's a reindeer race!

3. Gift Wrap Lunges

Step forward with your right foot into a lunge.

Pretend you're wrapping a gift as you twist your torso to the right.

Alternate legs and twists.

Aim for 3 sets of 12 lunges on each leg.

4. Snow Angel Sit-ups

Lie on your back, arms and legs extended.

As you sit up, sweep your arms and legs out wide, like making a snow angel.

Lower back down with control.

Complete 3 sets of 20 sit-ups.

5. Sleigh Push-ups

Get into a plank position.

As you lower your chest toward the floor, imagine pushing a sleigh forward.

Keep your core engaged.

Do 3 sets of 12 push-ups.

6. Mistletoe Mountain Climbers

Start in a plank position.

Bring one knee towards your chest and then switch legs quickly.

Imagine reaching for mistletoe hanging above you.

Perform for 2 minutes – get that heart rate up!

7. Tinsel Triceps Dips

Sit on the edge of a sturdy chair or couch.

Place your hands on the edge, fingers forward.

Slide off and bend your elbows, lowering your body toward the floor.

Push back up.

Aim for 3 sets of 15 triceps dips.

Cool Down:

Finish your festive workout with a few minutes of gentle stretching. Focus on your legs, back, and shoulders. Remember to stay hydrated throughout and listen to your body.

This Christmas-themed bodyweight workout will not only keep you in shape but also add a touch of holiday spirit to your fitness routine. Put on your favourite holiday tunes, grab a water bottle, and let the festivities begin. Merry Fitmas!

Enjoy.
